Week 9
We reviewed the formative input that was provided to us this week. I agree that my progress has been lacking, as the general message suggests. We looked over some of my work, including the design of my CPJ website. At this point, the CPJ's design resembled the draft that was given to us in every way. The current version of the website is not perfect, but it is what it is since I "didn't have the time" to redesign it.
There are numerous things that must be done in order to proceed. I need to come up with
more experiments to conduct, work on my CPJ more, begin working on my dissertation
draft, and so forth.
In order to facilitate my understanding of the remaining
time, I created a timetable that outlines my goals for the upcoming weeks leading up to
the submission deadline. There are basically just five weeks remaining as of this week
to turn in the dissertation draft and around six weeks remaining for the remaining work.
I remain optimistic even if it seems like time is running out.
Moving Forward
At this point, I am not particularly clear on the path I want to take, nor do I have a good idea of how I will present or build my prototype. I feel very lost. Creating something is one thing, but having an idea for what to create is something quite different, and right now I don't have that idea in mind. I had a hard time coming up with an idea for something that I could design that would relate to my topic. I want to produce something such that other people can understand what I'm trying to say just by looking at my work, but right now I have no clue as to how I should proceed with this goal.
I started by browsing for some visual inspirations, and then I created a personal mood board to help me with the look and feel of how I would like my work to be, and also to maybe allow me to gain some inspiration on what I can do for my project. I hope that this will allow me to obtain some ideas. For the duration of this week, I concentrated completely on collecting videos and photos that, with any luck, would be of assistance to me in terms of ideation.
