Week 13

My dissertation draft, which is due the following week, would be the main emphasis of week 13. There were a number of things that I felt were missing, and following the last consultation in week 13, there were few suggestions for further development.

Following are a few of the remarks I put together after getting the RPO feedback form. It is said that there are gaps in the details and depth of my research, particularly with regard to my research objective and approach. If necessary, I should provide more examples—such as case studies or passages from the literature review—in order to be more precise and provide greater justification for my intentions.

I should consider my strategy and research techniques to be a recipe that someone can follow to replicate my work.

As an example: In order to help the audience understand deep attention and hyper attention, we will create two straightforward assembly experiments. In addition, we will look into the audience members' movements and behavioural patterns. We would be able to observe and examine the differences in cognitive load and attention span between the two experimental circumstances by carrying out the experiments. We would choose the option that receives more audience attention and involvement based on these experimental results, and we would then work to build it into a more substantial form. Be more detailed with examples and avoid writing in a generic format, which is something I have continuously seen in myself. I tend to write things in a very general format.

I decided to carry on reading since, at this point in my investigation, I wanted to learn as much as possible about the subject. I attempted to look up other readings that discuss the perspectives on the topic and the Asian markets. Despite being able to locate quite a few of them, I discovered that the key information I took away from the readings appeared to be somewhat generic and not particularly "specific to the Asian market." But the additional readings undoubtedly made a big difference in my comprehension of the subject, which makes it easier for me to gradually develop my own ideas and perspectives.

Some important takeaways from what I read were as follows:

Companies consistently implement strategies to position their brand as the preferred choice, aiming to secure customer loyalty and drive subsequent purchases. In tandem, marketers are strategically developing communication approaches targeting customer markets, with a primary focus on heightening brand awareness. This proactive engagement aligns with attribution theory, which defines the cognitive process of determining the cause of behaviour and events, emphasising the lasting impact of past experiences on future behaviours .

The ubiquitous use of technology products in our daily lives takes on a dual role, compelling consumers to not only experience the product but also envision new futures, thereby enhancing their affinity for the brand and fostering brand love and engagement. This heightened engagement establishes a robust emotional connection between the customer and the brand, leading to a stronger intention to maintain this relationship and repeat product purchases.

Research outcomes underscore that brand experience plays a pivotal role in positively influencing brand engagement, brand love, and brand equity. This comprehensive process thoroughly influences customer decision-making, providing an authentic foundation for overall brand evaluation and fostering a long-term relationship. In comparison to brand attachment, brand experience is not solely an emotional relationship; rather, it captures specific sensations, feelings, cognitions, and behavioral responses, making it distinct from attitudes and motivations.

Recognizing the significance of brand experience, brand shops are urged to offer visual stimuli showcasing the efforts of companies or salespersons, providing customers with a unique and memorable brand encounter. The physical environment of a store, where consumption occurs, serves as a potent stimulus, actively engaging customers in decision-making through unexpected elements like color, light, style, music, and fragrance.

Cognitive load theory, which posits that available cognitive capacity is limited by working memory capacity, identifies three components: intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. Intrinsic load, linked to task complexity, is complemented by extraneous load, influenced by the format of learning instruction, and germane load, dedicated to relevant information processing and learning activities.

An updated model of cognitive load theory streamlines these components to intrinsic and extraneous load, recognizing that effective learning relies on managing these loads efficiently. In the realm of design, computational design techniques empower designers to create diverse forms with simple rules and parameters, aligning with the contemporary industrial trend of mass customization.

The confluence of art, science, and technology in the 1970s ushered in a transformative era. Artists, inspired by the rise of popular science, embarked on creative experiments and collaborations beyond traditional art domains, embracing new technologies and materials. This interdisciplinary approach marked a pivotal moment in the evolution of artistic expression.
